In the Community
At SportsDirect, we're committed to being a good neighbor and giving back to the community. SDI supports local and national charities with financial contributions and volunteer work. Below are some of the charitable groups and organizations that SportsDirect has recently worked with.
FEED NOVA SCOTIA
FEED NOVA SCOTIA is the provincial food collection and distribution centre for approximately 150 food banks and meal programs across Nova Scotia. FEED NOVA SCOTIA provides year-round food deliveries to member food banks and meal programs who serve at least 38,000 Nova Scotians each month.
The Canadian Cancer Society
The Canadian Cancer Society is a national community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer.
The Canadian Progress Club
The Canadian Progress Club - Halifax has provided aid and assistance to those in need by creating an entire community of concerned citizens. The organization has contributed significantly to Nova Scotia's Special Olympics Program, King's Meadow Home and The Progress Centre raising over $2,000,000 for their capital needs.
Bust a Move
The QEII Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization established to strengthen health care for Atlantic Canadians at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. The QEII Foundation raises funds for state of the art technology, community-based disease prevention initiatives, professional education and medical research.
Movember
Movember is the month formerly known as November, where men and women across the globe join together raise awareness and funds for men's health issues. Men grow a Mo (moustache) for 30 days to become walking, talking billboards for our men's health causes - specifically prostate cancer. Funds raised through the Movember campaign go to Movember Canada, a national, not for profit organization. The net funds are committed to programs supporting prostate cancer initiatives run by Movember and through our men's health partner Prostate Cancer Canada.
Atlantic University Sport (AUS)
Atlantic University Sport (AUS) is a regional membership association for Canadian universities which assists in co-ordinating competition between university-level athletic programs.
